The EANS Foundation’s E-NEURO project gained valuable international visibility at the EANS Congress 2026 in Hamburg, marking an important step in its development and reinforcing the Foundation’s commitment to advancing collaborative research and data-driven approaches in neurosurgery.
Held from 30 September to 4 October 2026, the Congress brought together 2,372 participants from 88 countries, alongside 72 industry partners, offering a dynamic scientific programme featuring more than 150 sessions and over 1,700 scientific presentations.
A key highlight for the Foundation took place on 2 October 2026, when Maria Krestyaninova and Dr. Aria Nouri presented E-NEURO during Session 53, “TBI Registries Across the Globe: Harmonisation and Next Steps,” chaired by Bart Depreitere and Jussi Posti.
The session provided an important platform to introduce E-NEURO to the international neurosurgical community and place the initiative within a broader discussion on the future of traumatic brain injury (TBI) registries, data harmonisation, and cross-border scientific collaboration.
Beyond the scientific presentation, the Congress offered valuable opportunities for meetings, professional exchanges, and discussions on the project’s next stages of development. These interactions helped strengthen existing relationships, establish new connections, and explore potential avenues for future cooperation.
The EANS Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to Maria Krestyaninova and Dr. Aria Nouri for their dedication, expertise, and commitment to advancing E-NEURO and representing the initiative at this important international gathering.
We would also like to express our warm appreciation to our valued collaborators, Giannina Rita Iannotti, PhD, MBA and Philippe Voruz, PhD, for their continued support, valuable contributions, and collaboration throughout the project’s development. Their involvement and shared commitment are greatly appreciated and contribute to the collective effort behind this ambitious initiative.
The presentation of E-NEURO at EANS Congress 2026 represents another meaningful step towards building a collaborative international framework for TBI research. By encouraging scientific exchange, strengthening partnerships, and promoting the harmonisation of clinical data, the initiative seeks to contribute to a better understanding of traumatic brain injuries and, ultimately, to improved prevention and patient care.
The EANS Foundation looks forward to continuing this collaborative journey and supporting the next stages of E-NEURO’s development.
